Nkwaga Geofrey β€” Bringing Farming into the Digital Age Programme: Eco Digital Project Occupation: Vegetable Farmer Nkwaga Brian is a vegetable farmer who joined the Eco Warriors digital skills camp with an interest in learning how technology could support his farming activities. After the training, Geofrey began using online platforms to advertise his vegetables, communicate with customers and explore new opportunities for his farm. Digital tools have also become a source of agricultural knowledge for him. Through YouTube and Google, Geofrey can access information about farming techniques, production practices and other agricultural knowledge that can support his work. Instead of relying only on information available within his immediate community, Geofrey can now search for information and learn from farmers and agricultural practitioners beyond his local area. His experience demonstrates the connection between digital literacy and sustainable livelihoods. For smallholder farmers, access to digital information can open new ways of reaching markets while supporting continuous learning. β€œThe internet has become another source of knowledge for my farm and another way of reaching my customers.” Geofrey journey shows that digital transformation is not limited to offices or technology companies. It can also support farmers, small businesses and rural communities.
